Job Description

Leonardo UK is seeking a Senior Consultant to join the Cyber & Security Solutions Division. This role focuses on supporting the delivery of security aspects for the company's core products and external stakeholders. Responsibilities include engaging with engineering teams and managing all facets of cyber and information security throughout the engineering lifecycle, from requirements to in-service support and maintenance.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to significant programmes, ensuring products meet high standards aligned with customer requirements and risk appetite. You will be supported by a team of consultants, engineers, and specialists.

The role involves solving customer problems in an agile, innovative, and team-centric manner. It may require a hybrid working model, combining remote work and on-site presence at one of our offices to facilitate collaboration.

Key Responsibility Areas
  • Deliver cyber and information security streams independently within a larger team across the engineering lifecycle.
  • Interpret customer requirements into actionable security management plans and activities.
  • Oversee statements of work and artefacts, ensuring delivery within time, cost, and quality constraints.
  • Identify, manage, and escalate risks and issues.
  • Maintain customer relationships for security workstreams, both internal and external.
  • Mentor team members as needed.
Skills, Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience

Essential:

  • Passion for cyber and information security.
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Core consulting skills: client relations, adaptability, reliability, flexibility, teamwork.
  • Degree in engineering or cyber security, or equivalent professional certification.

Experience:

  • 3+ years in a Cyber/Engineering role.
  • Involvement in MOD accreditation and secure by design processes.
  • Knowledge of standards like NIST SP 800-30, 37, 53.
  • Experience managing risks and services in compliance with regulations.
  • Experience with software, firmware, and hardware security.
  • Conducting risk assessments, threat modelling, vulnerability analysis.
  • Overseeing security verification, validation, and remedial actions.
  • Collaborating with engineers and architects to develop secure solutions.

Desirable:

  • Understanding of engineering lifecycle.
  • Knowledge of cryptographic technologies, key management, and COMSEC in line with MOD/NCSC standards.
  • Knowledge of Cyber Security & Airworthiness standards.
