Job Description

Join us as a Senior Security Consultant at Barclays. We create the future by providing client-focused technical advisory to support secure design and implementation of change across various business areas, technologies, and platforms.

Provide guidance to stakeholders to ensure system security is maintained. Collaborate with change delivery teams to promote secure-by-design approaches, identify security requirements, and ensure a secure environment. Support and review product and project security throughout the development lifecycle, highlighting cyber security risks to stakeholders.

To be successful as a Senior Security Consultant, you should have experience with:

  • Identifying, mitigating, and remediating security weaknesses in technology solutions.
  • Infrastructure and platform security.
  • Stakeholder management and communication skills to influence solutions.

Additional valued skills include:

  • Formal Cyber Security qualifications such as Degree/Master's or CISSP.
  • Experience securing Cloud and Big Data platforms.
  • Experience with securing Generative AI solutions.

The role is based in our Knutsford office.

Purpose of the role:

Enable 'secure by design' supporting change programs, designing and implementing secure systems across data security, risk management, asset security, security architecture (including cloud security), communications, networks, security operations, software development, security testing, and IAM.

Accountabilities include:

  • Overseeing technology change governance.
  • Conducting security risk assessments and threat modeling during development to identify vulnerabilities and embed security controls.
  • Promoting DevSecOps and engaging early with stakeholders for security input.
  • Providing security reviews for third-party products and services.
  • Transferring residual risks as per the enterprise risk management framework.
  • Supporting incident response and security investigations.
  • Developing and maintaining security policies and standards.

Vice President Expectations:

  • Lead or guide teams, define responsibilities, and manage resources and budgets.

  • Manage risks and strengthen controls.
