Senior SAP HCM

Location: Brussels, Belgium (Hybrid: 2 days onsite/3 days remote)

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior SAP HCM/Payroll/ABAP Consultant to join a complex client environment in Brussels. This hybrid role combines functional HCM expertise with strong ABAP technical skills.

You will act as a subject matter expert across PA/OM, Time, and Payroll, advising clients on SAP standard solutions while delivering functional changes and resolving technical issues. The ideal candidate brings deep hands-on knowledge of SAP HR modules alongside proven ABAP debugging capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Advise clients using your expertise on SAP modules (ADMIN/TIME/PAY), promoting the usage of standard SAP in relation to business needs, logic, and processes.
• Provide robust solutions and guide the client toward best-practice configuration and process design.
• Work on functional changes, including projects, estimates, and detailed functional analysis.
• Deliver quality work on-time according to agreed planning and estimations.
• Support the Team Leader during the estimation process and pro-actively inform them of any risks or deviations.
• Take full responsibility for the quality of your own deliverables, including formal validation and documentation before production release.
• Solve complex production issues according to defined SLAs, utilizing strong ABAP debugging skills.
• Analyse and document system interface requirements between applications and the SAP system.
• Perform development and troubleshooting tasks involving Web Dynpro ABAP, POWL, BADIs, and Smartforms.
• Maintain a customer and solution-oriented attitude in all interactions.
• Demonstrate a general understanding of enterprise HR functions and operational processes to bridge the gap between technical configuration and business requirements.
• Communicate effectively in Dutch, French, and English across both technical and functional teams.

Key Technical Requirements:

• Mastering of SAP HR main modules: ADMIN/TIME/PAY
• Strong ABAP debugging and troubleshooting skills
• Experience with Web Dynpro ABAP, POWL, BADIs, and Smartforms
• Minimum 5 years functional SAP HCM experience
• SAP S/4HANA certification recommended; SAP HR certification a plus
• Exposure to ESS/MSS, Workflow, or ALE/EDI advantageous

Language & Work Mode:

• Fluent oral communication skills in Dutch, French and English
• Fluent writing in mother tongue (Dutch or French) AND English
• Brussels-based: 2 days onsite/3 days remote
