Senior SAP gATP/AATP Functional Architect - Germany based in Mandatory
Posted 3 days 8 hours ago by Brabers
We have just received a super exciting SAP gATP/AATP Functional Architect position for one of our clients in Germany.
As a Senior Functional Architect, you will be a driving force behind our migration to SAP S/4HANA, taking ownership of the functional design and architectural vision for order fulfilment and supply chain planning. You will bridge complex business planning requirements with technical implementation, acting as the primary subject matter expert (SME) for Advanced Available-to-Promise (AATP), Product Allocation, Alternative-Based Confirmation, and Advanced Intercompany scenarios.
Key Responsibilities
S/4HANA Migration & Architectural Leadership
Migration Strategy: Play a pivotal role in the transition from Legacy SAP APO-gATP to SAP S/4HANA AATP, defining the target functional architecture and implementation roadmap.
Solution Architecture: Act as the functional lead, prioritizing an "architectural vision" over hands-on coding to design robust, scalable, and future-proof order fulfilment processes.
Custom Development Guidance: Leverage your strong technical/programming background to translate complex business needs into precise functional specifications. Guide and collaborate closely with development teams on custom enhancements (eg, ABAP, BAdIs, extensions) where standard logic is insufficient.
Functional Execution & Capability Ownership
Order Fulfilment & SD Integration: Design and configure S/4HANA AATP capabilities, ensuring seamless, end-to-end integration with Sales & Distribution (SD) core processes.
Specialized Capability Build: Serve as the SME to build internal knowledge in highly specific execution areas:
Product Substitution/Alternative-Based Confirmation (ABC): Configuring advanced product and plant substitution strategies to maximize fulfilment.
Product Allocation (PAL) & Rationing: Managing constrained supply and equitable allocation rules.
Advanced Scheduling & Backorder Processing (BOP): Optimizing release and confirmation logic.
Advanced Intercompany (Advanced ICO): Structuring cross-entity order streams, drop-shipments, and intercompany logistics.
Process Integration: Connect core execution flows with broader Supply Chain Planning operational models (eg, S&OP, demand/supply balancing).
Complex Problem Solving & Methodologies
Apply structured frameworks and methodologies to break down large, ambiguous work situations into manageable work packages and clear execution paths.
Demonstrate high analytical rigor to diagnose root causes in complex order confirmation networks and planning bottlenecks.
Maintain an exploratory, curious mindset to continuously evaluate modern S/4HANA features and architecture improvements.
Candidate Qualifications & Requirements
Technical & Functional Capabilities
gATP/AATP Expertise: Proven, deep functional and architectural experience in SAP gATP (APO) and a strong focus on S/4HANA Advanced Available-to-Promise (AATP). Experience with S/4HANA migrations is highly expected.
Process Knowledge: Deep understanding of Sales & Distribution (SD) process flows and logistics integration points.
Planning Background: Solid background in Supply Chain Planning concepts (demand planning, supply planning, capacity constraints).
Niche Knowledge Areas: Demonstrated experience configuring Alternative-Based Confirmation (ABC), Product Allocation & Rationing, Advanced Scheduling, and Advanced Intercompany (ICO).
Technical/Development Acumen: While this is a functional architect role, a strong background in development/programming is required to effectively design solutions, read code, and direct ABAP/extensibility efforts.
Highly Valuable/Nice-to-Have Skills
OMP Planning: Experience with OM Partners (OMP) planning tools is considered highly valuable and a strong differentiator.
Methodology & Soft Skills
Senior-level presence with exceptional analytical skills and a proven track record of architecting complex, multi-system setups.
Self-starter with a natural curiosity and a drive to build organisational capability and mentor others.
Proven ability to work through highly complex situations using structured methodologies.
Location & Languages
Based in Germany, preferably close to Frankfurt
Fluent/Business in German is highly valuable; business English required.
