The Financial Operations (FinOps) team is the engine of our wider finance function. We are the guardians of accuracy and integrity, focused on executing and managing the daily financial transactions that are essential for the business to run. Our work provides a solid foundation that enables the broader finance department to focus on strategy and growth.

About the role

The Senior Reconciliations Specialist will play a critical role in maintaining the accuracy of our financial records by performing timely and accurate multi-currency bank reconciliations. You will be responsible for key tasks including posting journal entries, supporting month-end close, and using our reconciliations system, BlackLine. This is a highly collaborative position where you will work with multiple stakeholders across the business to investigate and resolve discrepancies, ensuring a true and accurate accounting position. You will be based in our London HQ office, where you will be required to work in the office 3-days a week.

What you'll do

Reporting to the Reconciliations Manager, you will be responsible for a wide range of tasks crucial to maintaining the accuracy of our financial records.

Core Responsibilities

Perform timely, multi-currency bank reconciliations on a monthly basis.

Post journal entries to the general ledger.

Maintain and update our reconciliations system, BlackLine, to ensure accurate journal entries and reporting.

Perform monthly balance sheet analysis.

Stakeholder Collaboration & Support

Collaborate with multiple stakeholders across the business to investigate and identify unknown transactions, ensuring a true and accurate accounting position.

Assist other teams within Financial Operations with journal entry corrections.

Handle other ad-hoc financial tasks as they arise.

Month-End & Compliance

Assist with month-end closing and reporting.

Facilitate Restaurant Payment Adjustment (RPA) approvals, follow up on requests, and collect necessary information for the audit trail.

Requirements

Solid understanding of double-entry accounting.

Excellent analytical and observational skills with great attention to detail.

Ability to manage multiple tasks and competing deadlines effectively.

A methodical and meticulous approach to work.

Able to work independently, while knowing when to escalate a problem.

Excellent communication skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders.
