Senior Quantity Surveyor

A respected construction and property consultancy is looking to appoint a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their Southampton team. The successful Senior Quantity Surveyor will work across Residential, Commercial, Education and Leisure projects throughout the South Coast and wider region.

The Senior Quantity Surveyor's Role

The Senior Quantity Surveyor will take the commercial lead on a range of commissions, managing projects from early feasibility and cost planning through procurement, construction and final account.

Working closely with clients, architects and contractors, the Senior Quantity Surveyor will provide clear cost advice, manage commercial risk and ensure projects remain aligned with agreed budgets. The role will offer a healthy mix of hands-on project delivery and senior client responsibility across both new-build and refurbishment schemes.

This position would suit a Senior Quantity Surveyor who enjoys having ownership of their projects and wants to play a visible role within an established regional team. The Senior Quantity Surveyor will also support junior colleagues and help maintain strong long-term relationships with clients across the residential, commercial, education and leisure sectors.

The Senior Quantity Surveyor

• Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or similar
• Strong UK PQS / consultancy experience
• MRICS qualified or progressing towards chartership
• Proven project management experience
• Residential, Commercial, Education or Leisure background
• Strong cost planning and procurement knowledge
• Experience with valuations, variations and final accounts
• Good knowledge of JCT contracts
• Confident client-facing and reporting skills
• Strong communication and stakeholder management
• Experience mentoring junior surveyors
• Commercially aware and organised
