Your new role
As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will take ownership of the commercial management of major projects, ensuring financial performance is maximised while maintaining strong relationships with clients, suppliers and project stakeholders. Reporting to senior commercial leadership, you will oversee project costs from inception through to final account and provide strategic commercial support to project teams.You will be responsible for preparing and reviewing cost plans, valuations, applications for payment and final accounts while ensuring accurate forecasting and reporting throughout the project lifecycle. A key aspect of the role will involve identifying and managing commercial risks and opportunities, negotiating contracts and variations, and ensuring compliance with contractual obligations.Alongside managing project finances, you will mentor and support junior members of the commercial team, contributing to their development while helping to drive best practice across the department. The successful candidate will have significant input into commercial decision-making and play an instrumental role in the continued success of the business.

What you'll need to succeed
The ideal candidate will be degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related construction discipline and possess a proven track record in a Senior Quantity Surveyor position within the construction, engineering, manufacturing or specialist contracting sectors.You will demonstrate strong commercial awareness and possess a thorough understanding of contract administration, cost control and project delivery. Excellent communication and negotiation skills are essential, along with the ability to build effective relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. Previous experience managing large-scale projects and mentoring junior commercial staff would be highly advantageous.
