Senior Quantity Surveyor - 6+ Months Duration - Birmingham - Civils Infrastructure

Your new company
You'll be joining a highly experienced civil engineering and infrastructure contractor delivering work on one of the UK's largest and most complex rail infrastructure programmes. The business operates across major transport and infrastructure schemes nationwide and is known for strong project governance, collaborative working, and long-term career opportunities on flagship frameworks.

Your new role
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key part in the commercial delivery of a major infrastructure project, working closely with project and site teams to ensure robust commercial control from start to finish. The role is primarily site-based, with some flexibility for hybrid working.Key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing and producing monthly applications for payment
  • Administering and managing change control under NEC contracts
  • Preparing cost reports, forecasts, and internal commercial reporting
  • Supporting the identification, assessment, and agreement of variations and compensation events
  • Managing subcontract procurement, commercial administration, and payments
  • Providing commercial and contractual advice to project and senior management teams
  • Ensuring compliance with internal commercial procedures and contract requirements

What you'll need to succeed
A recognised qualification in Quantity Surveying or Commercial ManagementStrong experience working under NEC contracts on large civil engineering or infrastructure projects
Proven ability to manage subcontractors and commercial processes independently
Good working knowledge of Excel and commercial management systems
Strong communication skills and the confidence to engage with internal and external stakeholders

Desirable:
Background in major infrastructure, rail, civils, or groundworks projects
Degree in a related construction or engineering discipline
CSCS card
Professional membership (or working towards) RICS, CIOB, or equivalent
