Senior Quantity Surveyor

About the role

A Senior Quantity Surveyor is an experienced QS who has a track record in managing all costs and income within their area of responsibility on building and civil engineering projects. They seek to minimise the costs of a project and enhance value for money, while still achieving the required standards and quality.

What you'll be doing

• Has a good knowledge of and adheres to the Company's governance requirements and maximises LEAN/digital opportunities.
• Orders information and systematically checks data.
• Maximises digital opportunities.
• Prepares Activity Schedules, Resource Schedules & analyses tender documents.
• Critically appraises, estimates and negotiates the above with 3rd parties.
• Reviews complex contract programmes such as Time-Location, assists with the preparation of delay and disruption programmes.
• Monitors subcontract activities, measures and responds appropriately.
• Analyses the commercial progress and reports to senior project staff.
• Prepares Internal reports, commercial progress and financial reconciliation.
• Understands the Customer Contract and undertakes customer and stakeholder management.
• Analyses rates & prices, agreements of variations and or compensation events as required.
• Prepares, submits and negotiates claims when required.
• Manages commercial aspects with Customer and Stakeholders.
• Undertakes constructability analyses using construction programmes.
• Prepares procurement programme and helps develop the strategy.
• Supports the recruitment, supervision and development of team members.

Who we're looking for

• Strong Commercial Management experience.
• Ideally possess experience working within the Heavy Plant Industry.
• BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying or equivalent knowledge.
• MRCIS/MCInstCES/MCIOB with CPD maintained or working towards them.
• CSCS Card (Professional Qualified Person).
