Job Description

A medium sized construction consultancy are seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their Guildford office. The Senior Quantity Surveyor will deliver professional quantity surveying services across heritage, education and residential sectors. This Senior Quantity Surveyor role offers the opportunity to manage projects from feasibility through to final account, providing full pre and post contract quantity surveying support. The Senior Quantity Surveyor will play a key role within the cost management team, taking responsibility for client liaison and mentoring junior quantity surveying staff.

The Company

The Senior Quantity Surveyor will be joining an independent consultancy with a strong regional presence and a consistent pipeline of heritage, education and residential schemes. The practice provides cost management and project support services to public and private sector clients. The Senior Quantity Surveyor will work closely with Directors and form part of a collaborative surveying team based in Guildford.

The Role

As the Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will take ownership of projects while supporting junior team members. The Senior Quantity Surveyor will oversee both pre-contract and post-contract duties across multiple schemes.

The role will include
  • Preparation of cost plans and feasibility estimates
  • Tender documentation and procurement management
  • Contract administration under JCT contracts
  • Interim valuations, variations and cost reporting
  • Final account agreement
  • Client and stakeholder meetings
The Senior Quantity Surveyor?

You will be commercially aware, client facing and confident managing projects independently. Applications without relevant quantity surveying experience will not be considered.

The Senior Quantity Surveyor must have
  • A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related construction discipline
  • MRICS qualified or working towards chartership
  • Proven experience delivering quantity surveying services within a UK consultancyExperience across heritage, education or residential projects
  • Strong knowledge of JCT contracts
