Senior Quantity Surveyor

Our client, a well-established and growing contractor based in Derry/Londonderry, is seeking to appoint an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to take a lead role within their commercial team. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially astute professional to manage key projects while also supporting the development of a dynamic and expanding commercial department.
The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring projects are delivered within budget, while maintaining strong relationships with clients, consultants and subcontractors.
The Role- Take responsibility for the commercial and contractual management of projects
- Manage relationships with clients, consultants and subcontractors
- Prepare, negotiate and agree valuations and variations
- Monitor and control project costs, resolving any commercial queries as required
- Prepare and maintain procurement schedules
- Prepare and issue tender enquiries and evaluate subcontractor returns
- Place subcontract orders in line with company procedures
- Carry out site visits to measure and value works completed
- Assess and process subcontractor payments
- Produce accurate cost/value reconciliations and forecasts
- Provide commercial input to support both site and contract management teams
- Assist in mentoring and developing junior members of the commercial team
- Degree in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management
- A minimum of 5 years' experience working as a Quantity Surveyor with a main contractor
- Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Highly motivated with a proactive approach to problem-solving
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
- Salary of £60,000 - £70,000 (DOE)
