Job Description
MWH Treatment is looking to strengthen our Commercial team with a Senior Quantity Surveyor based at Coppermills, with hybrid working available.
You will report directly to the Commercial Manager and be responsible for the commercial management of projects.
Key responsibilities include:
- Quantity surveying duties related to managing projects and work packages
- Collaborating with design, construction, and supply chain teams to capture, analyze, and control costs
- Working with clients to ensure business requirements are met
- Managing the main contract, including identifying and raising contractual notices and correspondence as necessary
- Preparing and issuing subcontract documentation
- Assisting in managing and evaluating subcontractors' performance
- Managing the preparation and agreement of payment applications
- Preparing project cost & value reports, budgets, and forecasts
- Supporting the development of junior commercial staff
Additional responsibilities:
- Ensuring continuous professional development through external networking, conferences, or associations to stay current with industry changes
- Maintaining a positive, solution-oriented approach and providing honest feedback
- Undertaking other duties, training, and hours as reasonably required, consistent with the role's responsibilities
- Representing the department professionally in all internal and external contacts and maintaining positive relationships
- Ensuring confidentiality in all aspects of work
Essential requirements:
- Degree or equivalent qualification
- Working towards or holding chartered membership of a recognized institution
- Experience in utilities, civil engineering, or MEICA sectors
- Experience with NEC3 contracts
Desirable:
- Experience in managing and developing individuals or small teams
