Senior Quantity Surveyor - Highways & Earthworks

Salary: Up to £80,000
Working Pattern: Hybrid - up to 2 days per week remote working
We are looking to appoint Senior Quantity Surveyors to support a growing workload across a highways framework portfolio in Kent. With a strong reputation for delivering complex infrastructure schemes, this opportunity offers long term project stability, exposure to major highways works, and the chance to operate within a well established commercial structure.
The business is expanding its commercial presence in Maidstone, with multiple Senior Quantity Surveyor appointments required to support framework delivery.
Role OverviewAs a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be commercially responsible for highways and earthworks projects across the Maidstone region. Schemes typically include bridge repairs, road widening and junction improvements, with individual project values ranging from £15m to £50m.
Working under NEC contracts, you will play a key role in commercial governance, cost control and stakeholder management, whilst collaborating closely with operational teams and the wider commercial function.
Key Responsibilities- Commercial management of highways and earthworks projects (£15m-£50m)
- Administration and management of NEC contracts
- Cost forecasting, CVRs and cash flow management
- Preparation, submission and agreement of interim valuations
- Management of compensation events, variations and change control
- Procurement, management and final accounts of subcontractors
- Accurate commercial reporting to internal stakeholders
- Supporting framework delivery teams on live highways projects
This role is suited to an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor with a strong background in highways or civil engineering.
You will ideally have:
- Demonstrable experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor
- Background in highways, earthworks or infrastructure projects
- Strong working knowledge of NEC forms of contract
- Experience managing multiple stakeholders within a framework environment
- A proactive, organised and commercially astute approach
- Salary of up to £80,000
- Hybrid working with up to 2 days per week remote
