Senior QA Engineer (Manual) - Fully Remote Opportunity - Poland, Portugal, North Macedonia, Romania

Tech - Postman, Swagger, Cypress, Fiddler, Javascript, DataDog/Sentry

Salary - $48,000 - $72,000

A rapidly expanding technology platform within the local commerce sector, focused on providing innovative digital solutions for business growth and operational efficiency, is seeking an experienced API QA Engineer with a strong focus on manual API testing. Automation experience is a bonus. The platform facilitates direct customer engagement for local businesses.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to investigate and analyse production issues effectively. This role requires a proactive, communicative, and well-organised individual who can manage multiple tasks efficiently and ensure high-quality testing outcomes.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough manual API testing to ensure system reliability and accuracy.
  • Develop, update, and maintain API test cases and test plans.
  • Perform testing across various system components, including integrations and UI, as required.
  • Collaborate with development, product, and other teams to define testing strategies.
  • Investigate and analyse production issues, identifying root causes and collaborating on fixes.
  • Investigate and report API issues, ensuring timely resolutions.
  • Analyse API performance and provide recommendations for improvements.
  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of API testing frameworks.
  • Manage multiple tasks effectively, ensuring all deadlines are met.
  • Design and execute automated API tests to improve efficiency (optional).
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience in API testing (manual & automation is a bonus).
  • Strong knowledge of RESTful APIs and API testing methodologies.
  • Proficiency in API testing tools (e.g., Postman, Swagger, DevTools, proxy tools).
  • Hands-on experience in API automation using relevant tools (e.g., RestAssured, Cypress, Playwright).
  • Experience with scripting/programming languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript).
  • Strong understanding of SDLC and Agile methodologies.
  • Experience working with logs, debugging tools, and performance metrics.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with an analytical mindset.
  • Strong time management skills to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, ability to work with cross-functional teams.
  • Fluent in English (verbal and written).
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and adaptable to fast-changing environments.
