About The Children's Society

The Children's Society has been helping children and young people in this country for over 130 years. We run local services that support children when they are at their most vulnerable and in desperate need of help. We're there for children, every step of the way.

Role Overview

This role is within our Social Impact Group. As our new Senior Prospect Research Manager, you'll play a crucial role in transforming our Philanthropy Programme by developing and delivering a prospect identification and pipeline management framework. This will enable high-quality research, cultivation, and stewardship of high-value philanthropists and partners in support of TCS.

A key part of this role involves working closely with Senior Philanthropy Leaders and the Major Appeal Programme Director to ensure the prospect identification and pipeline framework aligns with the priorities of the Philanthropy Programme and Major Appeal.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Strategically develop and implement prospect research processes to identify high-net-worth individuals and corporate donors.
  2. Manage and nurture a pipeline of potential donors, ensuring effective engagement and stewardship.
  3. Collaborate with senior leadership to tailor prospect strategies to organizational priorities.
  4. Conduct due diligence and research within the not-for-profit sector.
  5. Prepare and present proposals and reports to senior management and boards.
Candidate Requirements
  • Extensive knowledge of philanthropy audiences, including motivations for giving and principles of major gift fundraising.
  • Proven success as a prospect/fundraising researcher with experience in due diligence.
  • Experience in developing processes that drive fundraising success.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of presenting to CEO/Board level.
