JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
The primary responsibility for this role is the initial review of property and operational reporting completed by the Outsourced Partner for assets across Europe Multifamily. This includes ensuring accuracy, consistency, and best practices across a property portfolio, and holding the Outsource Partner accountable for delivery. The role also involves partnering with Operations and Asset teams to add value through the review process to support business plan achievement.

Role Responsibilities:
- Ensure timely delivery of accurate management accounts, VAT returns, and outsourced services in compliance with venture and statutory deadlines.
- Partner with Operations and Asset Management teams to analyze financial performance and identify improvement opportunities.
- Review financial data provided by the Outsource Partner on the accounting system.
- Engage in bank-level authorization of payments to service providers and suppliers, following delegated authority.
- Review bank reconciliations, monitor cash books, and perform banking duties.
- Review Balance Sheet packs, including accruals, prepayments, and journal entries.
- Review reports and supporting schedules, such as accruals and prepayments.
- Conduct the first review of month-end reporting packs produced by the Outsource Partner, providing feedback and ensuring accuracy.
- Review operational budget variance analysis and collaborate with Operations teams on preparation, delivery, and timeliness of variance commentary.
- Provide guidance on accounting treatments to the Outsource Accountant at PropCo and OpCo levels for consistency.
- Coordinate with the Investment Accounting team on financials, property valuations, budgets, and external reports for owned and third-party assets.
- Provide investor reports (cash distributions, capital calls) and reporting on third-party mandates.
- Review subsidiary audited financial statements prepared by external partners.
- Prepare property-level accounting memos as needed.
- Coordinate with the Outsource Partner during the annual audit process.
- Assist with onboarding new assets, including setup of operational systems and banking platforms.
- Complete various financial, accounting, narrative, administrative, and other reports and analyses necessary for business success.
- Continuously seek improvements in quality of information and working practices within the organization and with the Outsource Partner.
- As Senior Property Accountant, provide technical support to Property Accountants within the Operational Quality Assurance team and support the Financial Controller as needed.
Knowledge & Qualifications:
- Strong general education with excellent written and numerical skills.
- Qualified Accountant.
- Proficiency in Excel and Word.
- Experience with Yardi (preferred).
- Basic understanding of VAT and company structures.
Experience & Skills:
- Experience in a similar role within a fast-paced, multi-site business, ideally in Real Estate or Student Accommodation sectors.
- Strong interpersonal and team-working skills to build stakeholder relationships and a desire to learn and develop.
