The Role:Business Change in Uisce Éireann supports the business to select, prioritise, plan and deliver its portfolio of change enabled projects and programmes primarily in the non-networks capital investment plan. The Business Change area provides specialist resources to the business in the areas of Portfolio Management, end-to-end Project Management, Change Management including training, business readiness and post go live support and Business Process Analysis, Design & Implementation including Business Analysis. The team provides PMO tools, methods and reporting capabilities, including benefits realisation management.
The Project Delivery team is responsible for the end to end delivery of projects and programmes assigned to the team working cross functionally with our business colleagues, including IT and other 3rd party providers as required. The team provides specialist project and programme management resources to deliver business outcomes in line with agreed scope objectives, and the team ensures we have integrated delivery plans, underpinned with relevant resources and in line with approved budgets. The team ensure methods and governance is strictly adhered to during the delivery lifecycle. Progress reporting is regular including risks, issues, and dependencies. There is regular engagement throughout with business stakeholders including Executive Sponsors, Business Leads and other key stakeholders as appropriate.
Reporting to the Project Delivery Lead, the Project Manager has responsibility for managing project and programme delivery through the project lifecycle.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:Manage the delivery of one or more projects, depending on scale, from initiation through to project closeout
Ensure the procurement process is followed as appropriate in the project lifecycle
Develop the project plan(s) and ensure resources are allocated to achieve planned work schedules
Manage and report on status, risks, issues and projects plans of all projects within the portfolio on a regular basis. Escalation to Project Sponsor and Steering Group at appropriate point
Manage stakeholders across the project lifecycle including users and external resources/ service providers
Manage budgets and timescales to ensure adherence to approved milestones and overall budget
Ensure the project team completes the analysis and overall system design, in addition to developing detailed test plans and test data for system, business, and post-production testing for any IT workstreams in scope for the project to deliver
Ensure user training and post-go-live support is established and completed to support project implementation in conjunction with Business Readiness activities
Keep up-to-date on issues and development so that leading practices can be applied across the organisation
Build and maintain strong relationships with business leaders and influencing their decisions on project prioritisation
Manage relationships with all suppliers and contractors, monitoring their progress and adherence to the contract, representing the Project Delivery team at meetings with third parties
Manage one or more direct reports, where allocated
Influence the continuous improvement of project delivery across various portfolios, through the use of standard project delivery processes
Collaboration with key internal stakeholders across the UÉ business
Responsible for promoting and delivering health and safety commitments across UÉ and its supply chain, reinforcing positive behaviours and delivering health and safety objectives and requirements to the highest industry standards.
Support the delivery of the Uisce Éireann Transformation Programme, driving results required within the Directorate and supporting organisation-wide objectives.
Other duties as required.
Minimum of seven years' experience in a project lead or project management position.
Relevant third level qualification in Business, IT or related discipline
Project management qualification required
Familiarity with both waterfall and agile delivery methodologies and experience in delivering both is desirable
Ability to communicate effectively with peers and senior management, both verbal and written
Ability to develop and maintain effective strategic partnerships with key stakeholders internally and externally
Proven track record with dealing with complex issues, proactively and in a timely fashion along with the ability to communicate complex information to others
Highly motivated individual, working to the highest professional standards and with proven ability to deliver results
Strong analytical skills and ability to identify and analyse problems and potential improvements, and propose and implement solutions
Demonstrate adaptability and the ability to change focus and direction in line with business strategy and requirements
Proactively identifying new areas of improvement and using newly gained knowledge and skill on the job
