About the role

We're looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager who thrives on driving business improvement, leading organisational change and making complex challenges easier to solve. The successful candidate will play a key role in our specialist project management team delivering the GDC's portfolio of strategic projects.

Working across a diverse range of projects, you'll partner with colleagues from across the organisation to identify opportunities for improvement, simplify complex business issues and deliver practical, sustainable solutions. You'll be responsible for leading change that improves the way we work, ensuring projects deliver measurable benefits while maintaining effective governance, managing risks and engaging stakeholders.

Success in this role means being able to distil complex, multi-disciplinary issues into clear problems, develop practical solutions and bring people with you throughout the change journey. You'll balance strategic thinking with practical delivery, helping the organisation navigate change with confidence while managing and developing Project Managers and Project Officers (maximum of 2).

About you

You'll be an accomplished project and change professional with a passion for improving business processes and delivering meaningful organisational change.

You'll have:

- A proven track record of delivering complex business improvement and transformation programmes and using waterfall, agile and hybrid methodologies.
- The ability to simplify complexity by analysing multi-disciplinary issues, identifying root causes and developing practical, achievable solutions.
- Strong change management skills, with experience supporting people through organisational change and embedding new ways of working.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence, challenge constructively and build consensus across a wide range of audiences.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams and coordinating multiple projects with proportionate levels of governance and control and competing priorities.
- Excellent analytical, communication and presentation skills, enabling you to translate technical or complex information into clear, accessible messages for different audiences.
- A continuous improvement mindset, always looking for opportunities to improve processes, reduce complexity and deliver better outcomes.

The GDC is the UK-wide regulator of all dental professionals, across seven professional titles. Our primary purpose is to protect patient safety and maintain public confidence in dental services. To achieve this, we register qualified dental professionals, set standards for the dental team, investigate complaints about dental professionals' fitness to practise, and work to ensure the quality of dental education.
