About the role
You'll be our go-to person for taking projects from the very beginning right through to completion. You'll support our strategy by owning project delivery, always making things happen. Your mission is to get projects delivered successfully, on time and within budget. Day-to-day, you'll be leading teams across the business to make sure we achieve the results we need. This means you're managing everything from resources and schedules to finances, and keeping a sharp eye on issues, risks, and dependencies to ensure smooth delivery. You'll be talking to stakeholders, sharing updates on progress, risks, and issues. You'll also be influential, engaging with people at all levels, including our leaders, to drive project success and push forward our strategy. You'll work with the business to prepare for change, making sure project launches go smoothly and with minimal disruption to everyday work. Plus, you'll share your expertise by coaching and mentoring others on project management best practice, handle the necessary project documentation, and even help us improve our processes for delivering projects. It's a dynamic role where you need to be self-motivated, great at communication and stakeholder engagement, able to understand and communicate complex technical concepts clearly, and ready to adapt to change. You'll need to navigate through change with resilience and adaptability.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leads teams to deliver project(s) from initiation to closure. This involves projects spanning one or more business units and ensuring the required outcomes/benefits are produced within specified time and cost constraints as defined in the business case.
- Manages resources, schedules, financials, issues, risks and dependencies. This is done to ensure successful and on-time project delivery, with the ability to adapt to change.
- Monitor and communicate project progress, risks, issues and dependencies to the project or programme governance group.
- Influence stakeholders including Leadership Team (Executive) level to drive the successful delivery of projects and the business strategy. It also involves building strong relationships with colleagues to drive delivery and collaboration while holding people accountable for their deliverables.
- Working with the business and Change Management resource to prepare for change. This includes ensuring projects are delivered with minimal disruption to Business As Usual (BAU) and maximum adoption of the change to support the realisation of benefits.
About you:
- Project Management Experience: Substantial experience in project leadership and demonstrable management of complex and technical projects.
- Stakeholder Engagement and Communication: Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Experience working with Squads including Product teams.
- Change Management Knowledge and Adaptability: Works with change management resources to prepare for change. The ability to adapt to change and competing demands with resilience and adaptability.
- Problem Solving: Strong reputation for creativity, acute attention to detail, flexibility, versatility, and problem solving are required.
- Coaching and Best Practice Application: Experience of coaching the business on project management best practice and delivering projects using a framework based on best practice project management.
