About The Role
FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Senior Project Management to work for our client within the finance sector. This is initially a 6-month contract with the potential to extend and will be a hybrid role based in Knutsford.
Our client is seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Project Manager to lead the delivery of complex, high-impact initiatives within the corporate banking domain. This is an exciting opportunity for a confident leader with a strong background in financial services, particularly in areas such as commercial lending, cash management, treasury, and trade finance.
In this senior role, you will oversee large-scale programmes that align with the bank's strategic objectives, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to the highest standard. Your ability to navigate complex stakeholder landscapes, manage risk, and drive transformation will be essential to your success.
Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of complex projects and programmes within the corporate banking portfolio
- Develop and manage detailed project plans, including budgets, timelines, deliverables, and resource allocation
- Engage and influence stakeholders across the business, including senior leadership, technology teams, compliance, operations, and external vendors
- Identify and manage project risks, issues, and dependencies, proactively creating mitigation strategies and contingency plans
- Ensure all projects comply with internal governance standards and relevant regulatory requirements
- Oversee and coordinate cross-functional teams, ensuring clear alignment between business and IT objectives
- Provide clear, concise project updates, reports, and executive-level presentations
- Support broader transformation initiatives by ensuring alignment between individual projects and organisational strategy
About You
Requirements
- Minimum of 10 years of project management experience, with a strong track record of delivering large-scale initiatives within financial services
- Proven success in managing complex, cross-functional programmes, ideally within corporate banking environments or major consultancies serving banking clients
- Deep understanding of corporate banking products and services, including, Commercial lending, Cash management, Payments, Treasury, Trade finance
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Strong grasp of project governance, risk management, and change control processes
- Ability to operate effectively in fast-paced, regulated environments, balancing multiple priorities with a strategic mindset
