Job Description
Work Flexibility: Hybrid Position Summary

The Senior Project Engineer is responsible for supporting the development of innovative orthopedic products from concept through market launch within a regulated medical device environment. The role focuses on technical execution, product development, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure products meet customer, clinical, quality, and regulatory requirements. The position also provides guidance and technical support to engineering colleagues while contributing expertise to project activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaboration with clinical advisors to gather input for the design and evaluation of new Trauma and Extremities products, organizing cadaver labs and consultant meetings, and developing implant and instruments.
  • Direct and manage the workflow of engineers within the scope of assigned projects.
  • Interface with clinical advisors to gather input for design and evaluation of new products in Trauma and Extremities.
  • Organize and manage cadaver labs and consultant panel meetings.
  • Model and detail implant and instrument designs utilizing Pro/Engineer design software.
  • Manage the design control creation through the New Product Development Process (NPDP).
  • Work with Program Managers and oversee technical teams to ensure project plans adhere to agreed upon timelines and are within the scope of the NPDP guidelines.
  • Lead and participate on cross-functional design teams to develop new product, address design issues, and maintain existing designs.
  • Utilize advanced knowledge of the surgical procedure and relationships with clinical advisors to develop innovative solutions to solve problems and satisfy customer needs.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key design consulting groups to recognize and anticipate industry trends and user needs.
  • Mentor other engineers in project management best practices and industry trends.
What You Will Need
  • A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering, Science, or a related field of study is required for this position.
  • Minimum of 3 years of product development experience in the medical device industry or equivalent is also required.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex product development initiatives from concept through release.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply design controls within a regulated industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve work objectives both independently and as a leader/member of a work team.
  • Demonstrated experience with a parametric CAD design package.
  • Pro/Engineer Preferred.
Compensation & Benefits

Compensation is an important part of that process and we want to be clear about how pay is determined. The compensation information posted for this role may be presented as a salary range or a fixed amount depending on the role.

  • Pay Ranges: Ireland: €47,000 - €77,000 EUR Annual.
  • In addition to base salary, this role may be eligible for incentive compensation (such as bonus and/or commissions where applicable), along with Stryker's comprehensive benefits package.

Travel Percentage: 10%.

Work Flexibility
  • Remote - Role allows you to work the majority to 100% of time from an alternate workplace.
  • Field-based - You can expect to regularly work a majority to 100% of time at customer facilities and has a set territory or expectation to travel within a set boundary. Almost all sales roles would likely be qualified as field-based.
  • Onsite - Role is 100% located at a Stryker facility. Some ad hoc flexibility may be available depending on role, level, and job requirements. Manufacturing roles and any role that requires physical presence at the office would qualify under this category.
  • Hybrid - You can expect to regularly work in both an alternate workplace and a Stryker facility. Roles that are partially remote or co-located would qualify as hybrid, and the expectation to be onsite would be defined and agreed upon by your manager/supervisor.
