Senior Program Manager, EF Planning

We are seeking a Senior Program Manager for the External Fulfillment (EF) Planning Team within Amazon Japan's Operations Division.
EF handles order processing and shipping operations at fulfillment centers operated by third-party logistics (3PL) or vendors, focusing on large items, heavy items, and temperature-controlled products. The EF team contributes to the company's growth by expanding this service, offering a wide product selection with remarkably fast delivery speeds, thereby enriching our customers' shopping experience.
This position will be responsible for managing network capacity based on medium to long-term demand forecasts and planning/executing the launch of new logistics centers to support business growth.

Key Responsibilities- Planning and Execution of Mid to Long-term Launch Plans for New EF Sites: Manage demand forecasts and site capacity, create and execute launch plans, and adjust plans based on latest forecasts.
- Proposal and Implementation of Logistics Network Solutions: Identify business environment changes, propose improvements, and collaborate with relevant departments to implement solutions. Plan and launch specialized logistics centers for new product categories.
- Development and Control of Cost Plans: Collaborate with Supply Chain, Finance, and Operations teams to create and execute medium to long-term cost plans.
- Planning and Execution of New EF Sites: Develop and implement plans for new sites, assess demand forecasts, and propose plan modifications as needed.
- Logistics Network Improvements: Detect challenges, propose solutions, and execute plans swiftly, including the launch of centers with unique capabilities.
- Cost Management: Create and manage medium to long-term cost strategies through collaboration with various teams and partners.
Work Environment
Flextime Work System: No core hours required, standard hours: 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM, weekends and public holidays off.

Minimum Qualifications- Bachelor's degree
- Over 5 years of project management experience, including cross-departmental projects, negotiations with vendors, and troubleshooting
- Basic or higher PC skills, especially MS Excel (Pivot Tables, Vlookup)
- Intermediate Japanese proficiency
- Business-level English reading and writing skills
- Experience in logistics or consulting firms
- Business-level Japanese conversation skills
- Quantitative analysis skills and high IT literacy
- Degree or knowledge in engineering or operations
- SQL proficiency
- Positive attitude towards contributing to an inclusive culture and working in diverse groups
