Senior Product Manager IT - Long-Term Assignment (Freelance or Contract)

Start Date: Start of August

Duration: 2 Year Contract

Remote Work:50%

A global technology services company is seeking a Senior Product Manager IT for a long-term project within the digital department of a major European mobility organization. This role is focused on managing digital solutions related to customer channels and commercial products, ensuring continuous value delivery and alignment between business objectives and agile development efforts.

You will work at the intersection of business and IT, shaping product roadmaps, translating complex needs into clear functional requirements, and ensuring successful delivery through collaboration with agile teams. You will be responsible for a portfolio of digital solutions with a strong focus on commercial platforms and user-centric services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Gather and structure high-level business requirements (epics) from diverse internal stakeholders
  • Translate business needs into actionable functional requirements (features) for development teams
  • Draft clear documentation, from high-level epics to detailed functional specs
  • Organize and lead workshops with defined agendas and outcomes
  • Develop and update product roadmaps based on business priorities and technical inputs
  • Define and prioritize MVPs in collaboration with business owners to deliver quick value
  • Collaborate closely with development teams to ensure user stories are well-defined and testable
  • Maintain ongoing communication with stakeholders to ensure product alignment
  • Proactively identify risks, interdependencies, and potential blockers, offering mitigation plans
  • Define success metrics and KPIs to track product impact and performance
  • Support user acceptance testing and change enablement activities
  • Participate in backlog grooming, sprint planning, and refinement sessions

Required Skills & Experience

  • At least 5 years of experience as a Product Manager, Business Analyst, or similar role
  • Strong facilitation, organizational, documentation, and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Analytical and strategic mindset, capable of balancing technical and business perspectives
  • Ability to translate abstract or high-level ideas into concrete deliverables
  • Skilled in differentiating between strategic business objectives and system-level requirements
  • Experience working in agile teams (Scrum, SAFe)
  • Solid grasp of product lifecycle, MVP strategy, and value-driven prioritization
  • Tools: Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, Miro (or equivalents)
  • Experience with modeling standards like BPMN and UML
  • Comfortable working in complex, fast-paced environments with multiple stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified in Agile Product Management (e.g., CSPO, SAFe PM/PO)
  • Master's degree or equivalent through professional experience
  • Experience with digital product platforms, especially in B2C or e-commerce contexts
  • Familiarity with frameworks like Lean Business Case or Value Proposition Canvas
  • Previous exposure to the transportation or public services sector is an advantage
