Location: Office Base is either London or Salford. This is a hybrid role and the successful candidate will balance office working with home working.

Our mission in Authoring & Curation is to enable BBC editorial teams to reach audiences across the globe. We build and optimise the tools that power our digital landscape. Any BBC News or Sport content you've read online is created using our tools. Authoring & Curation is at the heart of the BBC's journey into a digital first future, harnessing the power of AI, user research and data analysis to ensure that BBC content creators will always have the tools to meet the needs of a rapidly evolving audience.

We are looking for a visionary and technically skilled Senior Product Manager to lead the development of scalable, AI-driven products that support strategic business needs across the BBC's Product Group. The successful candidate will coordinate between editorial, UX and technical colleagues to deliver products end-to-end , from innovative ideas to validated, scalable production systems serving thousands of internal users and improving the experience of millions. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape the way that the BBC creates and curates content, and to be a leader in our adoption of Generative AI. We're looking for someone who thrives at the intersection of technology, design, and business impact, and is passionate about shaping the future of AI in product ecosystems.

Main Responsibilities
  • Drive Scalable Product Design: Lead the product lifecycle with a focus on building scalable, user-centric solutions that can grow with the business and adapt to emerging technology.
  • AI Strategy & Vision: Stay ahead of the curve on AI advancements and translate new technologies into actionable product strategies. Be a vocal advocate for AI innovation within the BBC.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with engineering, design, data science, and business stakeholders to gather requirements, assess value, and prioritise initiatives that align with organisational goals.
  • Product Leadership: Leverage your product skills to make informed decisions, evaluate trade-offs, and communicate effectively across the multi-discipline team.
  • Market Awareness: Maintain a deep understanding of the AI landscape, including current trends, ethical considerations, and upcoming developments that could shape the next 2-3 years of product innovation.
  • Product Evolution: Champion the product vision and influence a culture of experimentation, learning, and continuous improvement.
Are you the right candidate?
  • Proven experience in product management, ideally in AI, SaaS, or platform-based environments.
  • Experience with prioritisation frameworks and value-driven decision-making.
  • At least enough technical knowledge to understand the engineering and ML work of the team at a high level.
  • Demonstrated success in designing and scaling complex products.
  • A strong interest in AI and a demonstrable drive to push innovative projects forward.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Desirable but not essential:

  • Experience working with Large Language Models (LLMs), Generative AI, or machine learning platforms.

The interview process will be two stages and held on MS Teams. The first stage will include a short presentation / scenario followed by the second interview where you'll demonstrate the required competencies through examples from your experience. Interviews will commence the week of 30th June 2025.
