About The Role

Job Summary:

The Senior Product Manager will be responsible for driving the strategic direction and overall execution of the Brush Switchgear Product Platform. You will act as the general manager for the product line, with responsibility for developing and executing the product roadmap, technology innovation (new product development, margin enhancement, breakthrough innovation), revenue, and profitability.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a long-term (three years +) strategic playbook, including roadmaps for products, services, and solutions.
  • Create and execute lifecycle strategies for the technology/product line/platform.
  • Identify program risks and opportunities, evaluate their impact, and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Engage with customers, collect VOC and OVOC data, and translate insights into portfolio strategies, including segmentation.
  • Maintain and update market, regulatory, and competitive positioning; leverage insights for product opportunities, gaps, acquisitions, partnerships, and marketing.
  • Develop and refine technical and commercial value propositions, reviewing cost of ownership, service quality, and customer perception.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to define scope, deliverables, resources, and timelines for strategic initiatives aligned with business goals.
  • Collaborate organization-wide to ensure early adoption of innovation principles, validation, and customer value positioning.
  • Partner with the Programme Management Office to develop project assessment protocols and maintain organizational standards.
  • Identify and review Intellectual Property opportunities during new development programs.
  • Manage data protection activities and promote awareness within the area of responsibility.
Qualifications, Knowledge, Experience & Skills:

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • MBA or equivalent
  • Six Sigma Green Belt (preferred Yellow Belt)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Skills
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, with the ability to build rapport and consensus.

  • Results-oriented with strategic insight and technological leverage.
  • Proven experience working cross-functionally in engineered-to-order businesses, influencing functions.

  • 8-10 years of experience in product management, marketing, or technical leadership within medium to large enterprises (£100M - £500M P&L), in sectors like Electrical, Power, Oil & Gas, Mining, or Automotive.
Knowledge
  • Understanding of Medium Voltage Power Distribution Technologies; T&D experience is an advantage.
  • Lean Six Sigma methodology.
  • Extensive energy industry network including technology organizations, academic institutions, trade bodies, vendors, and supply chain.
  • Market awareness, financial acumen, cost control, and value creation.
Experience
  • Experience in manufacturing or engineered-to-order environments.
  • Experience leading strategic transformations in product management roles.
  • Ability to deliver projects and results in ambiguous environments.
  • Proven track record of meeting requirements and schedules for product releases.
