Senior Product Design Lead

Senior Product Design Lead (German speaking) - Up to £500 a day - Remote working

My client is looking to recruit a Senior Product Design Lead with fluent German for a 3-4 month contract (potential to extend) to steer a high-impact initiative at the intersection of innovation, research, and product design. Working with a leading Fintech company, this role requires an experienced design leader who thrives in fast-paced, ambiguous environments, and can drive clarity through strategy, systems thinking, and stakeholder alignment. You'll lead a small team, scale research efforts, and deliver thoughtful design solutions in a complex product landscape.

Key responsibilities:

• Lead and mentor a team of product designers through a high-priority initiative.
• Scale a robust user research program to inform product direction and validate key assumptions.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional stakeholders (product, engineering, research, operations) to drive alignment and clarity.
• Establish and evolve design systems that support product scalability and consistency.
• Make strategic design decisions under ambiguity-balancing long-term vision with short-term delivery.
• Identify and resolve design challenges quickly and thoughtfully.
• Communicate clearly and confidently across all levels of the organization.

Key skills:

• Previous experience in product design, with at least 2 years in a leadership or lead role.
• Proven track record of leading product design efforts from discovery through delivery.
• Experience building or scaling research programs in complex environments.
• Expert-level stakeholder management-comfortable influencing at senior levels.
• Hands-on experience with design systems in evolving or multi-platform products.
• Comfortable navigating ambiguity, shifting priorities, and organizational complexity.
• Strategic thinker and fast learner who can ramp up quickly and add immediate value.
• Must speak fluent German and fluent French would be a bonus
