Job Description
Senior Private Client Solicitor Legal Executive Dorset 4+ PQE Hybrid Working Do you enjoy high-quality Private Client work? A legal firm is seeking an experienced Private Client or Legal Executive to join their growing team in a senior capacity. To register your interest, please contact Alicia Forde on or email quoting Job Ref: 5265

The Opportunity:
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Private Client Solicitor or Legal Executive to join an established and forward-thinking team, with a genuine opportunity to play an important role in the continued development of the department.
This position would particularly suit someone who enjoys delivering high-quality legal advice, building lasting client relationships and taking an active interest in supporting and developing less experienced members of the team.
The firm offers a stable and collaborative working environment, with a sensible approach to workloads and billing, allowing its lawyers to focus on delivering excellent client service rather than working towards unrealistic targets.

The Role:
As an experienced member of the Private Client team, you will manage your own varied caseload while also providing guidance and support to junior colleagues.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Managing a broad portfolio of Private Client matters, including Wills, Probate, Lasting Powers of Attorney, Trusts and estate planning.
• Advising clients on a range of often complex and sensitive Private Client matters.
• Building and maintaining strong, long-term relationships with individuals, families and professional contacts.
• Taking ownership of matters from initial instruction through to completion.
• Providing day-to-day supervision, guidance and mentoring to NQ Solicitors and more junior members of the team.
• Supporting colleagues with technical queries and helping to develop their confidence and legal knowledge.
• Playing an active role in the department's succession planning and ensuring knowledge and expertise are effectively passed on.
• Contributing ideas and expertise to the continued growth and development of the Private Client offering.
• Working collaboratively with colleagues across the wider firm to provide a consistent and high-quality service.
• Maintaining the firm's high professional standards while ensuring clients receive a personal and approachable service.
This is a role where your experience will be valued, and where you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful contribution beyond your own caseload.

About You:
The firm is seeking an established Private Client professional with approximately 4-8 years' PQE who is ready to take on a senior role within a supportive and settled environment.
You will ideally have:
• A strong and well-rounded background in Private Client law.
• Experience across core areas including Wills, Probate, Trusts, LPAs and estate planning.
• The technical ability and confidence to manage your own caseload with a high degree of autonomy.
• Strong communication and client relationship skills.
• Previous experience of supervising, mentoring or supporting junior lawyers, or a genuine interest in developing this aspect of your career.
• A collaborative and approachable personality.
• The ability to balance fee-earning responsibilities with supporting the wider team.
• A long-term outlook and an interest in building your career within one firm rather than simply seeking your next move.
Most importantly, you will be someone who values quality, professionalism and teamwork and wants to be part of a firm where those qualities are genuinely recognised.

The Working Environment:
The firm takes a people-focused approach and is committed to creating an environment where experienced lawyers can build a long-term career without the pressure of excessive billing expectations or aggressive performance targets.
You can expect:
• Hybrid working and a degree of flexibility around how you work.
• Realistic workloads and sensible expectations around billing and performance.
• A supportive, forward-thinking firm with a clear set of values.
• A collaborative culture where experience and knowledge are shared across the team.
• Genuine investment in the successful candidate's career and professional development.
• Opportunities to take on greater responsibility as the department continues to evolve.
• An attractive and developing benefits package.

Why Consider This Role?
This is an excellent opportunity for a senior Private Client Solicitor or Legal Executive who is ready to build on their existing experience while taking a more active role in supporting the next generation of lawyers.
Rather than joining a high-pressure environment driven by targets, you will become part of a settled and people-focused firm that places genuine importance on quality, continuity and long-term relationships.
For the right individual, there is scope to develop into a key member of the department and play an important role in shaping its future, while enjoying the stability, flexibility and supportive culture that can be difficult to find elsewhere.
