Role Responsibilities

As a Senior Power Engineer you will design and optimise power systems for data centre projects, ensuring reliability and efficiency through advanced simulations.

  • Simulation Expertise - conduct load flow, short circuit, protection coordination, arc flash, harmonic studies, and cable sizing per IEC standards, and calculate underground raceway temperatures.
  • Collaborative Design Support - work with design teams, respond to RFIs, liaise with clients, and participate in project meetings.
  • Transient Studies - calculate transformer inrush currents and perform transient stability analysis when required.
  • Documentation & Reporting - validate simulation inputs, prepare detailed reports, maintain records, and approve technical specifications for core electrical equipment.
  • Continuous Professional Development - stay current with industry trends, improve simulation methods, and contribute to team knowledge enhancement.
Role Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Power Engineering.
  • Proven experience in power systems engineering, preferably in data centre projects.
  • Working toward Chartered Engineering status.
  • Proficiency in ETAP (preferred), DigSilent or SKM, with expertise in load flow, short circuit, protection coordination, arc flash, harmonic, cable sizing and transient studies.
  • Experience with earthing studies and various unit protection settings.
  • Deep understanding of models for generators, transformers, motors and UPS across LV, MV and up to 132 kV.
  • Knowledge of power systems control and SCADA.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, communication and teamwork skills.
  • Consulting or construction background preferred and ability to work in a global consultancy environment.
  • Commitment to ethics, including the Ethics Charter and Guidance.
