Senior Planning Officer

Overview

Our Strategic Planning Service undertakes exciting projects such as preparing the local plan and minerals and waste plans, determining planning applications for minerals and waste developments, supporting communities to produce neighbourhood plans, and measuring the performance of our development plans.

We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic planning professional to support the Service in delivering its development management functions relating to minerals and waste development.

Responsibilities

• Support the Service in delivering its development management functions relating to minerals and waste development.
• Work on a range of planning applications related to mines and quarries, landfill and other waste facilities.
• Provide sound and timely advice on Plan Policies and development proposals, including pre application submissions and EIA screening and scoping opinions.
• Be involved in ongoing activities associated with the development, restoration and review of sites.

Qualifications

• Experienced planning professional with enthusiasm for the role.
• Strong background in minerals and waste planning.
