Senior Planning Officer

Overview

Our client is a Local Authority in North London. They need a Senior Planning Officer to take up a role dealing with assessing a range of planning applications at every stage, including consultation exercises, providing written reports, carrying out site assessments and dealing with appeals. On occasion you will represent the Council at Informal Hearings and Public Inquiries.

Responsibilities

• Lead the assessment of planning applications at all stages, including consultation, site visits and reporting.
• Represent the Council at Informal Hearings and Public Inquiries when required.
• Liaise with agents, applicants and the public on a day-to-day basis.
• Provide informed, accurate pre-application advice to prospective developers.
• Negotiate planning obligations under Section 106 of the Town and Country Planning Act.

Requirements

• Established Town Planning Officer with significant experience in a Local Authority planning environment.

Contract

The role will last at least 6 months and the rate will be a minimum of £40.59/hr (umbrella).
