About the Department: The Planning team is responsible for reporting on student and student-related data, providing high-quality analysis to key stakeholders throughout the institution. Planning operates a business partnering service to academic colleges to provide them with data, analysis and insight to support their teaching and research.
Planning also supports key activities coordinated by internal committees and working groups including statutory returns, the Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF) and Research Excellence Framework (REF) submissions, Access, Participation and Student Success (APSS) Plans and monitoring, Race Equality Charter (REC) and Athena Swan Charter applications, Careers and Graduate Outcomes and compliance with OfS regulatory requirements such as B3 monitoring.
About the Role: As a Senior Planning Officer you will be required to:
- Serve as a Planning Business Partner for an academic college responding to requests from the Dean and/or heads of department.
- Contribute to the evaluation of the College and department plans and continuous review, assessing student experience and outcomes data against historic trends and recent performance.
- Work with the Head of Planning and Dean to set Student Number Targets within the context of the SOAS Strategic Plan.
- Support the School's Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF) submission, Athena Swan/Race Equality Charter submissions, APSS monitoring and Careers and Graduate Outcomes analysis.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of the Planning team, including the use of business intelligence tools and generative AI as these tools are rolled out.
