Bristol £40,000-£50,000 plus bonus

A design led multidisciplinary practice is seeking a Senior Planner in Bristol. Planners work closely with architects, urban designers and landscape specialists on projects where planning and place making are closely connected.

The projects

The team is currently advising on major housing, urban regeneration, education, healthcare and mixed use masterplans. Projects range from early feasibility and site appraisal through to applications, negotiation, appeals and delivery advice.

Your part in them

• You will work across major housing, urban regeneration, education, healthcare and mixed use masterplans. Depending on seniority, you will lead or support instructions from initial appraisal to determination and beyond.
• Prepare clear planning appraisals, statements and strategic advice.
• Manage planning applications and coordinate technical inputs.
• Maintain regular, professional communication with clients and project teams.
• Negotiate constructively with local planning authorities and other stakeholders.
• Support larger instructions while steadily increasing your own project responsibility.

About you

Mrtpi or close; consultancy experience; comfortable coordinating multidisciplinary teams. You should also be organised, dependable and able to explain planning issues in straightforward language. The business is interested in people who value good advice and long term client relationships rather than unnecessary internal politics.

Package and working arrangements

The salary is £40,000-£50,000 plus bonus. The wider package includes hybrid working, annual bonus, private healthcare, paid subscriptions and structured promotion. Exact arrangements will depend on experience and will be discussed openly during the process.
