Senior Town Planner
Location: Bristol
Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a respected planning consultancy in their search for a Senior Town Planner to join their growing team in Bristol.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced planner to join a well-established consultancy working across a diverse portfolio of projects within the residential, commercial, and mixed-use sectors. The successful Senior Town Planner will play a key role in managing projects, supporting clients through the planning process, and contributing to the continued growth of the team.
The RoleAs a Senior Town Planner, you will lead on a variety of planning projects while working closely with clients, local authorities, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver successful planning outcomes.
You will be responsible for managing planning applications, providing strategic planning advice, and supporting junior members of the team, while contributing to projects from early-stage feasibility through to determination.
Key Responsibilities- Preparing and managing a range of planning applications and appeals
- Providing strategic planning advice to a variety of clients
- Leading on site appraisals and feasibility assessments
- Preparing planning statements and supporting documentation
- Liaising with Local Planning Authorities and key project stakeholders
- Managing multiple projects and meeting client deadlines
- Supporting and mentoring junior members of the planning team
- RTPI accredited degree in Town Planning or a related discipline
- Chartered Member of the RTPI (or working towards chartership)
- Several years' experience within a planning consultancy or local authority environment
- Strong knowledge of UK planning policy and legislation
- Excellent report writing and project management skills
- Strong communication and client-facing abilities
- A proactive and commercially aware approach to planning
