Senior People Business Partner

We have a fantastic opportunity for two enthusiastic, dynamic, values driven and innovative professionals to join our team as a Senior People Business Partner within our People & Organisational Development Directorate. There is one permanent post and one temporary post for 12 months to cover shared parental leave.

This role reports to Christine White, Head of People Business Partnering. The post holder will support the P&OD leadership team to deliver a strategic and operational partnership with clinical divisions and corporate directorates across the Trust. There is a requirement to work onsite weekly combined with the ability to work from home as and when the service can accommodate this.

Main duties of the job

The successful applicant will work with strategic and operational leads in their portfolio to deliver on complex agendas such as the DBTH People Plan, workforce planning and organisational change, service improvement, organisational development initiatives, colleague engagement and health and wellbeing strategies, and advise on day to day issues such as employee relations.

As this role involves working with people at all levels and with external partners, strong interpersonal and communication skills are required with the ability to build rapport, develop relationships, be customer focused, proactive, and drive change, solve problems and lead, coach and motivate colleagues.

Person Specification Knowledge and Experience

• Significant experience in a Senior HR role in a large diverse organisation
• Clear understanding of the major issues affecting the health and social care landscape and the NHS HR agenda
• Experience of strategy development and implementation
• Experience of NHS/other public sector employer
• Experience of a complex unionised working environment
• Experience of leading organisational change and building staff engagement
• Experience of policy development and formulation
• Experience of leading and line managing a team
• Previous experience in an HR Business Partner role
• Experience of delivering coaching, training to managers/presentation delivery
• Experience of large scale project management
• Experience of identification and management of workforce efficiencies
• Knowledge of the health and wellbeing agenda and diversity and inclusion agenda

Qualifications and Training

• Educated to postgraduate degree level in a HR related field or equivalent level of knowledge and skills gained through a combination of short courses, postgraduate study and/or experience
• Evidence of ongoing professional development
• Up to date knowledge of employment law, current best practice and evidence of its application
• Knowledge and understanding of a range of issues across the health and social care landscape, OD, workforce and HR agenda
• MCIPD member
• Coaching qualification
• Knowledge of quality improvement and innovation techniques

Salary: £57,528 to £64,750 a year (per annum pro rata).
