Job Description
Senior Paid Media Analyst

Department: Data & Analytics

Employment Type: Full Time

Location: London

Description Hybrid: Tuesdays and Thursdays in our London office

At Uswitch, our goal is to be the UK's favourite way to choose and manage home-life essentials - from broadband and mobiles to energy and insurance. As we continue to grow and expand our services, we are looking for talented individuals who share our passion for making a positive impact on people's lives. If you want to be part of a team that is transforming the way consumers navigate their household services, we would love to hear from you.
The role: As a Senior Paid Media Analyst, you'll play a lead role in optimising the performance of paid search, while identifying and scaling opportunities across other paid media channels such as Meta, TikTok, and YouTube. You will work closely with the marketing team and marketing engineers to optimise every pound we spend. The scale of our marketing operation, combined with our agility and bias to action, means your work will have a direct and measurable impact on business performance. We answer questions like:
  • How do we maximise growth from Paid Search while maintaining profitability?
  • How can we deepen our understanding of our customers to improve their experience with our marketing and reach them effectively across paid media?
  • How do changes in consumer search behaviour signal shifts in demand, and how can we respond faster?
You will be the voice of our data - using it to influence and guide strategy, as well as identifying opportunities that may benefit the business. All our analysts work across the business verticals on a broad range of challenges, and though you will start in search marketing analytics, you will have the opportunity to work on different challenges, projects, and teams throughout your time with RVU. What you'll be working on: You'll join our Marketing Analytics team - a team dedicated to understanding and optimising all marketing channels, from the effectiveness of Above The Line/Brand to improving the efficiency of key conversion drivers such as Paid Search. Our ambition? To build a best-in-class customer experience. You'll play a leading role in helping us achieve this by enabling us to understand our customers better, harness data, and discover insights across all touchpoints, campaigns, and marketing activities. Using tools and databases including Google Sheets, BigQuery (SQL), Tableau, and Python, you'll tackle intriguing problems such as:
  • Measuring, quantifying, and optimising complex marketing funnels and consumer journeys
  • Running tests to better understand the incrementality of our marketing channels and campaigns
  • Collaborating with and influencing relevant marketing team members to make data-guided decisions
  • Monitoring, reporting, and diagnosing trends in KPIs, automating processes where possible, and proactively identifying risks and opportunities
  • Developing analytical tools and models to enhance our capabilities

What we look for:
  • Proficiency in SQL is essential; experience with Python for automation, modelling, and experimentation is a plus, and we'll support your growth in these skills
  • Strong communication skills; ability to scope projects, disseminate results, and build confidence with stakeholders from varied backgrounds
  • Experience with analytical and BI tools such as Tableau (experience with Git, dbt is a plus)
  • Experience building complex operational and financial models, synthesising recommendations, and presenting to senior executives
  • Strong prioritisation skills and sense of urgency; understanding that while not every task is urgent, every day counts
Don't worry if you don't meet all criteria-what matters most is your willingness to learn and grow with us!
Recent projects by our analysts include:
  • Developing an in-house model to improve organic search performance
  • Supporting a company-wide initiative to develop a propensity model for delivering relevant content to customers
  • Creating an optimisation model to identify opportunities in search marketing campaigns
Our commitment to you:
At RVU, we are dedicated to creating inclusive, valuable, and user-friendly products and services that positively impact our customers. We believe our teams should reflect the diversity of our community, and we are committed to fostering an environment of openness and accountability.
What we offer: We aim to provide a supportive work environment, opportunities for personal and professional growth, and benefits to enhance your experience. Benefits include:
  • 10% discretionary yearly bonus and annual pay reviews based on performance
  • A hybrid working model with 2 days in the office and up to 22 days remote work annually
  • Employer matching pension contributions up to 7.5%
  • A one-off £300 "Work from Home" budget
  • Generous maternity, paternity, shared parental, and adoption leave policies
  • 25 days holiday (rising to 30) plus 2 "My Time" days per year
  • Private medical, dental, critical illness cover, and employee assistance programs
  • Employee discounts, learning and training budgets, and schemes supporting sustainable commuting
  • Additional perks like free gym access, breakfast, and mental health resources
