Role Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality housing and neighbourhood management services across a designated geographical area, ensuring residents receive a responsive, effective and customer-focused service.

This role will involve managing tenancy-related issues, addressing anti-social behaviour (ASB), overseeing estate standards and supporting vulnerable residents. You will also work closely with internal teams and external partners to maintain safe, well-managed neighbourhoods and drive continuous service improvements.

What You Will Do as a Senior Neighbourhood Officer

  • Deliver a comprehensive housing and tenancy management service, including estate inspections, tenancy audits, new tenant sign-ups, tenancy visits and addressing breaches of tenancy agreements.

  • Investigate and manage anti-social behaviour (ASB), harassment and tenancy enforcement cases, working with partner agencies to resolve issues and take appropriate legal action.

  • Monitor void properties and work collaboratively with relevant teams to minimise turnaround times and reduce rental income loss.

  • Manage introductory and flexible tenancies, supporting residents at risk of tenancy failure and working alongside rent recovery teams where necessary.

  • Prepare witness statements, court documentation and evidence for possession proceedings, representing the Council in court when required.

  • Monitor estate conditions, communal services, caretaking arrangements and responsive maintenance requirements to ensure neighbourhoods are maintained to a high standard.

What You Will Need as a Senior Neighbourhood Officer

  • Previous experience in housing management, neighbourhood management or tenancy management, ideally within a local authority or social housing environment.

  • Strong knowledge of tenancy agreements, housing legislation, estate management and tenancy enforcement procedures.

  • Experience investigating and managing anti-social behaviour, tenancy breaches and complex resident complaints.

  • Ability to prepare court documentation, witness statements and evidence for possession or enforcement proceedings.

  • Experience conducting estate inspections, tenancy audits, property visits and supporting vulnerable residents.

  • Strong communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage a varied caseload and work effectively with residents and partner agencies.

What's on Offer

  • £26.19 per hour, working 37 hours per week.

  • Initial 3-month contract within a local authority housing service.

  • Opportunity to contribute to neighbourhood improvements, tenancy sustainment and the delivery of high-quality housing services across Slough.
