Senior Mobile Engineering Manager - iOS/Android - Contract
Location: London
Rate: £400-£500 per day
IR35: Inside IR35
Working Pattern: 3 days per week onsite
We are looking for an experienced Senior Mobile Engineering Manager to join a large enterprise technology environment, helping deliver the next generation of mobile experiences across iOS and Android.
This is a hands-on contract role, combining mobile engineering with technical leadership, people management and delivery responsibility. Around 50% of your time will be spent actively designing and developing mobile applications, with the remainder focused on engineering leadership and delivery.
Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, test and deliver production mobile application features
Work hands-on with Swift/iOS and/or Kotlin/Android
Contribute directly to mobile architecture and technical solution design
Provide technical leadership through code reviews, design discussions and hands-on problem solving
Maintain high standards around code quality, testing, performance, reliability and maintainability
Lead, coach and develop a team of mobile engineers
Own engineering delivery against roadmaps, milestones and commitments
Identify and resolve risks, dependencies and blockers
Coordinate delivery across engineering, product, design and other teams
Work with technical and non-technical stakeholders, including senior leadership
Support reliable and frequent releases to the Apple App Store and Google Play Store
Essential Experience
Strong commercial experience as a mobile engineer
Deep, current experience with iOS/Swift or Android/Kotlin
Proven experience building and launching production mobile applications
Strong understanding of mobile architecture and engineering best practice
Significant experience leading and developing engineering teams
Experience managing teams of 10-20+ engineers is highly desirable
Proven track record delivering complex technology initiatives across multiple teams
Strong understanding of CI/CD, automated testing, observability, performance and production reliability
Excellent communication, stakeholder management and collaboration skills
Experience working within complex enterprise technology environments
