Job Description
The Senior Merchandiser leads the strategic planning and trading of the department to maximise sales, margin, and profit. This role is responsible for the overall commercial success of the range, overseeing the end-to-end lifecycle from initial budget setting to the final markdown strategy. Key Responsibilities 
- Develop and execute the seasonal department strategy in line with financial targets.
- Lead the WSSI (Weekly Stock, Sales, and Intake) process to manage terminal stock and cash flow.
- Formulate seasonal buy plans and range architecture alongside the Buying team.
- Manage the critical path and intake to ensure stock arrives on time to meet launch dates.
- Oversee the trading of the department, identifying risks and opportunities to hit KPIs.
- Mentor and develop junior members of the merchandising team to ensure a high standard of work.
- Present commercial performance and strategic forecasts to the senior leadership team.
- Extensive experience in a merchandising role at a senior or established level.
- Expert proficiency in Microsoft Excel and advanced retail merchandising systems.
- Strong commercial acumen with a proven track record of delivering growth and profit.
- Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable strategy.
- Proven leadership experience with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills to manage internal and external stakeholders.
