Asset Recruitment is seeking a Senior Mechanical Quantity Surveyor on behalf of our client, a leading EPCM company involved in several projects in Ireland and worldwide. In this role, the focus will be on projects within the Life Sciences sector.

This role will require the candidate to be in the office or on a client site for a combined 3 days a week. These days will be flexible but also work requirement dependent.

Role: Pre-Contract responsibilities include:

1. Preparing capital cost estimates
2. Assisting in tendering procedures and contract arrangements
3. Preparing pricing documents for tender packages

During the tendering phase responsibilities include:

1. Providing advice on tendering procedures
2. Drafting instructions to tenderers
3. Drafting PQQ questionnaires
4. Development of tender evaluation criteria
5. Handling queries during tender period
6. Commercial evaluation of all tender submissions
7. Negotiation with tenderers

Post Contract duties include:

1. Reporting to the Commercial Manager and being responsible for the commercial aspects of the project
2. Preparation of Interim Valuations
3. Preparation of monthly Cost Reporting
4. Review and assessment of Contract Claims
5. Client and Contractor meetings
6. Negotiation and agreement of Variations
7. Agreement of Final Accounts

Ideal Candidate:

• Quantity Surveying degree
• 8+ years' experience in the Construction Industry
• Experience in Life Science Projects is required
• Ability to collaborate effectively with team members and others
• Drive and determination to manage strict budgets to ensure the commercial success of the project
• Ability to use time productively, maximize efficiency, and meet challenging work goals
• Capable of working independently and directly with the client team
• Must be commercially aware, flexible, and ambitious to progress within the organization
