As aSenior Mechanical Engineerin our newly established, multi-disciplined site Technical Engineering Team, you'll be at the forefront of innovation and transformation at our Barrow-In-Furness facility; nestled on the edge of the stunning Lake District. As Senior Mechanical Engineer your responsibilities will include:
Drive strategic outcomesby using KPIs to align technical improvements with both short- and long-term business goals, evaluating HSE implications, ROI, and asset lifecycle priorities.
Lead safety excellenceby championing site safety standards, supervising contractors, and overseeing critical processes such as permits to work, risk assessments, and method statements.
Be a change agentfor continuous improvement by implementing and sustaining key company-wide initiatives like LEAN, OPEX, F2G and P2030 best practices.
Coach and empowerengineering teams to meet and exceed legislative, industry, and corporate safety and engineering standards.
Solve complex problemsthrough structured, engineering-led operational and project-based root cause analysis to support business objectives.
Own and deliver projectsfrom feasibility through to close-out, ensuring safety, cost, time, and quality KPIs are consistently met.
Take accountabilityfor one or more OSH performance standards as a responsible or deputy responsible person.
Prioritise effectivelyusing asset criticality assessments to manage workloads and resource allocation.
Reduce machinery riskby leading and supporting initiatives that enhance equipment safety and reliability.

In one of our manufacturing roles, you'll focus on winning with consumers and the market, while putting safety, mutual respect, and human dignity at the center. To succeed in this role, you will need the following qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent experience in a relevant discipline.
Proven experience in manufacturing, packaging, or a FMCG environment is essential.
A proven track record of initiating and delivering continuous improvement initiatives.
Knowledge of legislative machinery safety standards, or a willingness to gain this competence from a remote training provider.
Flexibility to travel globally up to 10% of the year to support project and business needs.
Familiarity with SAP GUI and SAP PM systems and processes.
2D/3D CAD skills preferred.
