Contract Hampshire Outside IR35 6 Months

A fantastic contract opportunity has become available for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join a respected engineering consultancy with a strong track record in delivering high-quality MEP design solutions. This role is for a 6-month contract, based in Hampshire, and falls outside IR35.

With a number of new projects underway, the consultancy is seeking a seasoned engineer to contribute to the design and delivery of a large-scale residential development.

Position Overview

• Create comprehensive mechanical design solutions based on client requirements
• Carry out mechanical services calculations for building systems
• Support the production of technical specifications and equipment schedules
• Conduct feasibility assessments and technical reviews
• Offer technical input and guidance throughout project phases
• Draft technical documentation and project reports

Key Requirements

• Demonstrable experience in mechanical services and HVAC design
• Solid understanding of UK building regulations and industry standards
• Background in residential or multi-unit housing projects
• Skilled in site assessments, load calculations, and ventilation or steam systems
• Proficient with design software, particularly Hevacomp
• Strong organisational skills and ability to manage workload effectively
• Clear communicator with experience in writing reports and presenting findings
• Self-starter who thrives in both team and independent environments
• Supervisory or team-leading experience is a plus
