The Role
The heartbeat of FT Live is our strong portfolio of event products and our ability to access, convene and engage the highest quality delegates and speakers. We are seeking an experienced, dedicated, and focused Senior Marketing Executive to join our team. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in the portfolio success and will be responsible for continuing to build the prestigious and exciting legal and retail events, identifying new target audiences, developing a fuller understanding of both market and delegate needs, and creating inbound and outbound marketing strategies that utilise this insight.
Key Responsibilities
Campaign Planning & Execution:
- Assisting with outbound marketing campaigns across a range of channels:
- Creating and driving outbound marketing campaigns across a range of channels, including but not limited to websites, email marketing, digital advertising, SEO optimisation, social and traditional media, influencers and PR.
- Creating and driving outbound marketing campaigns across a range of channels, including but not limited to websites, email marketing, digital advertising, SEO optimisation, social and traditional media, influencers and PR.
- Planning, coordinating and implementing effective 12-month marketing plans to ensure our products reach the right people at the right time.
- Drafting and collaborating with the performance team to agree on social plans for pre-event, live event and post-event for each event's organic and paid social media plans.
- Brief, segment and review data and creative ideas to attract new audiences to our events.
- Building and updating event microsites using the CMS.
- Briefing vital creative materials including but not limited to print, social media assets and digital ads.
- Delivering and keeping to event achievements.
- Designing and deploying compelling email campaigns, ensuring our messaging and copy are highly engaging and resonate with our key audiences and design is aligned with events' branding.
Event Delivery Support:
- Share assets, delegate lists and event statistics with sponsors pre and post-event
- Set up at-event technology and pre-event materials and/or digital retention comms
- Handle virtual event delivery from a marketing perspective, including but not limited to: sending out engagement emails, setting up contingency site and supporting with social media coverage and attendee access
- Handle in-person event delivery from a marketing perspective, including but not limited to: assisting with check-in, providing briefs and coordinating with videographers and photographers, coordinating vox pops onsite, partaking in customer research onsite, etc
Campaign Analysis & Reporting:
- Using data analytics including GA4 to measure audience engagement and delegate acquisition and retention through digital channels and being responsive to successes and challenges.
- Conduct weekly campaign analysis and report on each campaign review YOY analysis for all marketing channels for each event.
- Create internal and external post-event reports including in-depth event and marketing campaign analysis, stats, images and videos.
Required Experience/ Skills:
- 2-3 years of professional marketing experience preferably in events and or in a media organisation
- A flexible, adaptable and organised approach to working in a fast-paced environment.
- An understanding of SEO and excellent copywriting skills
- Upbeat individual with a passion for new technology, strong problem-solving skills, self-motivated, and able to work in a timely manner
- Strong organisation and time-management skills
- A high degree of accuracy in work practices pays attention to detail and the ability to cope well under pressure
- Knowledge of how to review data and creative ideas to attract new audiences to our events
- Ability to build data sets on CRM platforms such as Bloomreach
- Strong analytical skills and the consistent track record to pay close attention to detail
- Strong communicator with experience in building, nurturing and maintaining relationships across all levels of business (internal and external)
- Committed and exercises initiative and works independently as appropriate
- Self-Development: Actively seeks new ways to grow and be challenged using formal and informal development channels.
- Proficiency with Google Doc, Sheets and Microsoft Office Excel
- Experience in providing administrative support
Outcomes
Success will be defined by several dimensions:
- Defining and implementing the overall marketing strategy for a portfolio of events with an objective to grow sponsorship and delegate revenue, engage existing and attract new audiences;
- Continuing to develop the portfolio, to ensure its market-leading position and ability to command premium sponsorship and delegate rates;
- Successfully deliver in-person and virtual registration and attendee targets.
