The Senior Manager, Sales Operations (SMOS) is a role model for the Commercial Sales community within the Owned and Managed portfolio of hotels in the Arabian Peninsula (Dubai, Qatar, Oman, Kuwait, Bahrain). The role involves working with the RDOS to lead sales efforts, support multiple hotels and stakeholders, and develop key relationships with clients, owners, and internal teams such as VP Ops and GMs. The goal is to maximize the region's B2B demand, align hotel sales plans with regional and enterprise strategies, and demonstrate outstanding leadership and communication skills with deep regional hotel knowledge.

What will I be doing?

Planning Activities 20%

  • Support regional commercial focus activities with the RDOS and partners. Develop and implement plans for regional and global initiatives with hotel sales and GC&E teams.
  • Assist in opening and ramp-up plans for new hotels and conversions.
  • Create initiatives and implement key account management practices to enhance Hilton's market position.
  • Develop hotel-specific account plans and demand generation activities.
  • Identify key retention and acquisition accounts annually for each hotel.
  • Evaluate each hotel's sales situation, strengths, weaknesses, market opportunities, and threats to drive action plans.
  • Ensure effective use of systems and tools for opportunity response and referrals.
  • Create compelling propositions for participation in initiatives.
  • Collaborate with RDOS on sales revenue proposals and participation in trade shows.
  • Support regional projects and review global/regional sales initiatives.
  • Review GC&E proposals, utilizing BDRC insights to improve customer experience.

Directing Activities 20%

  • Expand market coverage through relationships with decision makers and influencers in key accounts and local authorities.
  • Maintain strong relationships with HWS from key source markets.
  • Utilize Hilton sales tools for demand generation and conversion.
  • Participate in hotel commercial reviews and provide sales direction.
  • Lead sales performance reviews and follow up on action plans.
  • Ensure compliance with Hilton policies and uphold high standards of representation.

People Activities 25%

  • Identify and develop sales talent in the region.
  • Oversee recruitment, induction, training, and development of sales teams.
  • Encourage regional and inter-hotel movement of sales staff.
  • Create succession plans for senior sales roles.
  • Coach and mentor sales teams and leaders.
  • Ensure training and targets are aligned with Hilton standards.
  • Support performance reviews, recognize successes, and address issues promptly.

Controlling Activities 20%

  • Seek new business sources and opportunities.
  • Implement and monitor sales incentive plans.
  • Analyze account performance and adjust strategies accordingly.
  • Assist with pre-opening sales plans and budgets for new hotels.
  • Track production of targeted accounts and lead demand generation efforts.

Supportive Functions

Perform additional functions as needed, including representing hotel interests, supporting new openings, maintaining relationships with hotel management, and attending meetings.

What are we looking for?

The candidate should possess:

  • Experience managing multiple hotels regionally and leading remote teams in sales, marketing, revenue, or operations.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and public speaking skills.
  • Ability to collaborate across teams and analyze financial data for strategic decisions.
  • Strong leadership, ethical standards, initiative, and problem-solving skills.
  • Budget management experience and ability to work independently.
  • Understanding of client business, market dynamics, and Hilton's brands.
  • Relevant university degree or equivalent experience, with extensive sales management background in hospitality.
  • Fluency in English; additional languages are a plus.

Preferred

  • Advanced degree or equivalent.
  • Significant hospitality sales experience.
  • Secondary language skills.
  • Strong regional business relationships.
