The UK government's "UK Infrastructure: A 10 Year Strategy" sets out a long term, cross sector plan to drive economic growth, deliver net zero, and improve public services. With a £725 billion commitment, the strategy prioritises stability, private investment, and robust delivery across transport, energy, digital, water, housing, and social infrastructure, giving confidence and direction across the entire supply chain.
Infrastructure supply chain and operations are facing unprecedented global uncertainty, risk and volatility. Sustainable infrastructure will play a critical role in delivering this strategy and overcoming these challenges.
Work on some of the UK's most transformational and iconic projects, focusing on:
- Initiation and successful delivery of transformation programmes.
- Support for the government's green infrastructure plan and net zero ambitions.
- Early stage, large scale infrastructure project development and ongoing support to improve project delivery.
Please note: We are focused on growing our supply chain capability across a wide range of sectors, including transport, energy, defence, utilities, digital and social infrastructure.
Your key responsibilitiesAs a Senior Manager, you'll combine deep delivery leadership with commercial ownership, senior client influence, and people leadership.
- Own and grow senior client relationships as a trusted advisor across supply chain, operations and/or sustainability.
- Lead major and multiple workstreams; set direction, governance and outcomes; ensure delivery across complex, multi stakeholder environments.
- Provide senior day to day leadership on engagements; steer team performance and resolve delivery challenges.
- Set the standard for insight led client deliverables, ensuring outputs are strategically coherent, decision oriented and "partner ready."
- Take accountability for delivery excellence and risk, anticipating issues early and managing escalation.
- Lead and develop managers and seniors, building high performing, inclusive teams and mentoring others.
- Originate and lead business development activity, including shaping pursuits and converting pipeline.
- Drive practice and capability development; build repeatable assets and methods.
- Strengthen EY's profile in the UK and global infrastructure market through thought leadership and account leadership activities.
An understanding of the UK infrastructure sector is critical, either from industry, government or consulting. Preferred knowledge of transport, energy, defence, utilities, digital or social infrastructure.
Senior Managers should bring strong depth in at least one of the following areas and breadth across several others:
- Shaping and leading operating, delivery and transformation programmes.
- Leading commercial and procurement strategy development and execution.
- Advanced contracts capability, including governance of contract performance.
- Leading sourcing, category management and supply chain mapping.
- Operations and asset management leadership for major assets and networks.
- Policy development leadership in infrastructure contexts.
- Owning and quality assuring HMT Green Book business cases.
- Designing and leading sustainable change programmes, net zero transitions.
- Programme and project leadership across traditional and agile environments.
Senior Managers must demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills and can engage credibly with senior client stakeholders.
- Experience within the infrastructure or related sector, with depth in supply chain, operations or sustainability.
- Exceptional writing ability; fluent/native in English (additional languages desirable).
- Adaptable style and approach for senior/executive audiences.
- Experience leading managers and multi workstream teams with strong coaching record.
- Willingness to travel and work across the UK and potentially overseas.
