Introduction to the job

As the manager for Physical Security, you are responsible for a team of security professionals across ASML to drive security and verify the performance of controls across ASML.

Role and responsibilities

As the Senior Manager Physical Security/Identity, you drive the strategy and implementation of sophisticated physical security measures that protect the organization's people, facilities, and assets beyond the capabilities of frontline teams, shaping, implementing and maintaining the 2LoR operating model. You will bring physical security to the next level for ASML, linking closely with identity and access management. As the authoritative escalation point for complex security challenges, this position ensures comprehensive physical security through specialized expertise, strategic risk assessment, and continuous improvement of physical security systems.

You will translate physical security threats into business risks and drive organizational resilience and protective measures, by connecting operational security activities with strategic leadership from a second line front. In this position, you ensure ASML maintains a resilient physical security posture through specialized expertise, strategic problem-solving, and continuous security enhancement by overseeing physical security activities with domain leadership.

In this role you will safeguard the access and control of ASML physical sites and effective security controls, driving secure development practices, and coordinating responses to physical security handling complex physical security issues escalated from frontline operations and implements advanced protective measures to secure the organization's physical environment. You will set up and update the physical security policy framework and the related controls /control objectives, implement these together with the user organization and link it seamlessly into the existing ASML security control framework.

• Provide expert advisory to sectors on a complex area of (Physical) security topics, defining and prescribing requirements, through policies, standards and controls.
• Lead and develop a team of specialized physical security professionals who serve as the escalation point for complex security incidents, lead response coordination and investigations into major security incidents (workplace violence, natural disasters, civil unrest) and coordinate cross-functional response activities.
• Establish and maintain advanced physical security systems, protocols, and response capabilities, conducting independent security assessments.
• Drive the implementation of sophisticated security technologies (access control, surveillance, intrusion detection), develop and oversee specialized threat assessment methodologies for high-value/high-risk facilities.
• Provide expert guidance on emerging physical security threats to executive leadership and establish security protocols, standards, policies, and procedures for protective services and oversee their implementation.
• Design and oversee advanced physical security training programs, create and implement/update metrics to measure physical security effectiveness.
• Create and implement physical security measures related to the supply chain of ASML.

Education and experience

• Master's degree working and thinking level.
• 8+ years of management experience, preferably in a multinational corporate security environment.
• Experience in working together with work councils and a good understanding of how physical security relates to privacy of individual employees.
• Proven experience with security risk assessments.
• Minimum of 5 years in (Agile) Project Management in complex high tech business environment.
• Experience in leading a team in a complex, multi-disciplinary environment.
• Proven track record in Security at strategic and tactical level is considered a plus.

You have a seat in the RBA Security Second Line Leadership Team, reporting into the head of Second Line Security. For our Senior Manager Physical Security, we look for someone who:

• Shows excellent communication skills and proficiency in the English language.
• Has knowledge of security frameworks like ISO 27001, NIST, SANS, ISA / IEC 62443k and Compliance.

Other information

• Knowledge of project management (Agile/Scaled Agile/Prince2 / PMBoK/ APMP / MSP).
• You are in possession of a valid work permit for The Netherlands.
• Either a GICSP, CISM, CISSP, or CISA certificate: considered as a pre.
