Responsibilities
  • Lead the Finance & Operations team across finance, IT, and process management functions.
  • Develop and implement departmental strategies aligned with the organization's mission and objectives.
  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting processes across organizational and project levels.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory and donor requirements, including financial and tax regulations.
  • Supervise IT systems, data security, and GDPR compliance while promoting digital innovation.
  • Drive process improvement initiatives and operational efficiency across departments.
  • Manage supplier relationships and procurement processes.
  • Foster a positive and high-performing team culture through effective leadership and coaching.
  • Act as a sparring partner for the Executive Board, providing strategic and operational advice.
The Successful Applicant

The ideal candidate will bring a strong blend of strategic leadership and hands-on operational expertise.

They Will Have
  • A Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
  • At least 5-7 years of experience in a similar finance and operations role, ideally within an international NGO or organization.
  • Proven track record in financial control, compliance, and process improvement.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and fostering professional growth.
  • Excellent communication skills in both English and Dutch.
  • High integrity, strong interpersonal skills, and a collaborative mindset.
  • EU citizenship or a valid Dutch work permit.
  • Knowledge of Dutch GAAP and tax regulations.
  • Familiarity with AFAS, ClickUp, and Google Workspace.
  • Experience managing third-party service providers.
