Senior Manager, Compliance Investigations - EMEA

Senior Manager of Compliance Investigations (EMEA) supports Stryker's Global Business Ethics & Investigations function by overseeing comprehensive investigations across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. The role ensures investigations are conducted with integrity, aligns investigative activities with global compliance standards, and contributes to continual improvement of the Global Compliance Program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and oversee thorough and impartial compliance investigations into alleged misconduct, including potential violations of law, the Code of Conduct, and internal policies.
  • Triage concerns, develop investigation plans, gather and analyze evidence, conduct interviews, draft reports, and brief senior leadership and stakeholders.
  • Apply a risk based approach to initiate, scope, and prioritize investigations, evaluating severity, complexity, and impact to optimize resource allocation.
  • Maintain investigation documentation in the case management system, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify trends and patterns to support root cause analysis, enhance risk awareness, and assist the Regional Investigations Director with quarterly reporting.
  • Collaborate with Compliance, Legal, HR, Employee Relations, Finance, Indirect Channel Management, and Internal Audit to align on investigations, corrective actions, and potential litigation.
  • Recommend and implement risk based enhancements to policies, controls, and investigative processes based on data, industry trends, and best practices.
  • Manage relationships with external counsel, forensic accountants, and investigators involved in internal investigations.
  • Act as a senior subject matter expert, maintaining expertise in anti corruption, sales, marketing, and reimbursement regulations and advising on regulatory changes.
  • Promote a speak up culture, ensuring employees can report concerns safely and without retaliation.
  • Provide strategic input and support to Compliance Officers in risk assessments, training, and monitoring.
  • Complete additional duties as required for the Global Business Ethics & Investigations team.
  • Travel requirement: 30% of time.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Fluency in English
  • Professional experience in investigations, compliance, or related disciplines
  • Proven experience leading complex internal ethics and compliance investigations in large organizations
  • Working knowledge of global enforcement standards (e.g., U.S. FCPA, U.S. False Claims Act, UK Bribery Act, OECD Convention) and relevant local anti corruption laws
  • Background in internal compliance investigations, government/regulatory investigations, legal practice, and/or forensic auditing/accounting
Preferred Qualifications
  • 10+ years of relevant professional experience in compliance investigations or related disciplines
  • Experience in the life sciences or healthcare industry
  • Legal degree (counts toward two years of work experience)
  • Experience collaborating with regulatory and enforcement agencies such as OIG, DOJ, SEC, and corresponding EMEA agencies
  • Additional European language capabilities
