Senior Manager - SVP - Agency Services (Escrow & Capital Markets)The role
The role involves leading the existing team responsible for a portfolio of clients including escrows,unauthorised collective investment schemes and other trusts and corporate appointments. The role also includes managing key clients andmaintaining and growing revenue from the client portfolio by building client relationships and delivering excellent service.
In this position you will report directly to the Head of Corporate Trusts, Corporate Solutions and will also work closely with the Regional Head of Operations, Corporate Solutions and other key stakeholders in connection with the performance of your duties.
The ideal candidate will come from a capital markets or trustee background with extensive experience of providing services to escrow and trustee clients. You will have a proven record of managing teams, delivering an exceptional service to clients and driving revenue growth.
Accountabilities & Main Responsibilities
- Oversee and administer a varied portfolio of escrows, trusts, agency and other appointments in accordance with established procedures and Company policies with a clear understanding of their structure, purpose and rationale.
- Review and approval of transaction documentation specifically trust deeds, escrow agreements and notices and circulars for circulation to beneficiaries and/or amendments to transaction documentation (in conjunction with counsel / internal legal where applicable) to ensure consistency with scope of appointment and risk appetite.
- Manage team ensuring that day to day administration is carried out within the framework of the relevant governing trust deed or agreement and, where appropriate, regulatory legislation.
- Develop a strong working relationship with clients, law firms and other industry professionals alongside our business development and CRM functions to promote client retention and repeat business.
- Act as a technical lead within the team and an escalation point with respect to assisting colleagues on document and commercial negotiations.
- Act as a director (when required) and actively support the directors of the portfolio of client companies in discharging their duties by strict adherence to all internal governance policies and procedures.
- Contribute to business unit profitability by ensuring adequate fee charges and cash collection combined with cost management and efficiency across the team.
- Work alongside the Business Development Team in supporting, evaluating and pricing new business opportunities in line with Apex risk appetite.
- Ensure business KPI's are consistently meeting the specified targets (accuracy, timeliness, and service delivery).
- Within prescribed limits authorise or instruct payments and execute documents under powers of attorney or board resolution.
- Identify, manage and report issues and risks, including legal/regulatory matters and client complaints to senior management promptly.
- Act in accordance with all legal and regulatory requirements affecting the Company and ensuring that actions comply with both departmental procedures and this job description.
Requirements
- Extensive experience of reviewing escrow and capital markets documentation generally
- A demonstrable ability to understand, consider and discuss complex capital markets transactions.
- The ability to think strategically, identify issues and provide and implement effective solutions
- Proven ability to lead and manage teams
- Proficiency in relevant software packages such as Microsoft Office applications
- Excellent networking, communication, organisational and leadership skills
- Motivated and driven with an ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines and demanding financial targets
