The Team You will join our Engineering organisation, reporting to the Head of Engineering Operating System and working closely with multidisciplinary engineering leaders across the programme. As the leader of our Integrated Product Support function, you will manage a growing team of engineers and technical specialists focused on ensuring maintainability, reliability, availability and operational readiness are embedded into the design from the outset. The team plays a critical role in supporting regulatory activities, influencing design decisions across the entire power station and shaping the future operating strategy for a first-of-a-kind nuclear technology. The Role As Senior Manager, Integrated Product Support (Design for Maintenance & Availability), you will provide strategic and technical leadership for the development of supportability, maintenance and availability solutions across the Rolls-Royce SMR Power Station. Working at the intersection of engineering design, operations and regulatory delivery, you will ensure that Examination, Maintenance, Inspection and Testing (EMIT) requirements are considered throughout the design lifecycle. This role offers the opportunity to influence major programme decisions, build capability within a growing function and help create a power station that is designed for long-term operational success. What We'll Need You to Do Lead the development and implementation of maintenance, reliability, availability and supportability strategies that influence design decisions across the power station and support future operator requirements. Manage and develop a team of permanent employees and specialist contractors, providing both technical leadership and people leadership to build capability and deliver high-quality outcomes. Work collaboratively with engineering design teams, programme leadership and other stakeholders to ensure maintainability and operational support requirements are fully integrated into the design. Provide governance and technical oversight for Integrated Product Support activities, ensuring assessments, reports and evidence are delivered to the required quality standards and programme milestones. Support regulatory and Generic Design Assessment activities by generating robust evidence, analysis and justification relating to maintenance, availability and operational readiness. Build strong relationships with customers, regulators and senior stakeholders, translating complex technical information into clear recommendations and influencing decision-making across the programme. Drive continuous improvement by embedding modern industry practices, improving ways of working and ensuring the function remains aligned with evolving industry standards and future operational needs. What You'll Bring Significant experience in Integrated Product Support, Integrated Logistics Support, reliability engineering, equipment reliability, maintenance engineering, operational readiness or a closely related discipline within a complex engineering environment. A proven track record of leading technical teams and delivering through influence, with the ability to balance strategic direction and detailed technical oversight. Experience working alongside engineering design teams to embed supportability, maintainability and availability requirements into major engineering programmes. Strong understanding of engineering lifecycle management, governance processes and the requirements of operating within highly regulated industries such as nuclear, aerospace, defence or energy. Knowledge of maintenance and reliability frameworks, operational support strategies, through-life asset management and concepts such as Examination, Maintenance, Inspection and Testing (EMIT). Chartered Engineer status, or clear evidence of working towards professional registration, alongside a relevant engineering or technical qualification. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build credibility, challenge constructively and influence outcomes across multidisciplinary teams. Location This role offers flexible and hybrid working arrangements. Regular travel to Rolls-Royce SMR offices in Derby, Warrington and Manchester will be required to support collaboration with colleagues, stakeholders and programme activities. What's in it for you We anticipate a salary of £71,000.00 - £93,200.00 dependent on the skills, values, and knowledge you bring.
