Join DHL Group as a Senior Legal Counsel (Employment Law) supporting our UK divisions with expert, commercially focused employment law advice. Acting as a trusted advisor to HR and senior leadership, you will play a key role in shaping business decisions, managing risk, and ensuring compliance while enabling practical, business-driven outcomes across a dynamic, fast paced organization.
Key Responsibilities- Provide pragmatic, risk-based employment law advice to HR, leadership, and business stakeholders across a wide range of topics
- Support employee relations matters including disciplinary, grievance, redundancy, and restructuring processes
- Advise on TUPE matters, including due diligence and employee consultation processes
- Manage employment disputes and oversee employment tribunal cases, including coordination with external counsel
- Draft, review, and update employment contracts, policies, and related documentation
- Contribute to the employment law aspects of commercial agreements, assessing legal risks and business impact
- Deliver employment law training to HR and management, both virtually and in person
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and act as a key point of contact for employment law matters
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, internal governance, and company standards
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Legal, HR, Procurement, and Data Protection
- Qualified solicitor in the UK with a minimum of 4 years' employment law experience (in house or private practice)
- Strong commercial mindset with the ability to balance legal risk and business needs
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and build trust at all levels
- Proven ability to manage complex matters independently and provide clear, pragmatic advice
- Strong negotiation and problem solving capabilities
- Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and operate autonomously
- Team oriented with a collaborative approach
- Fluent in English (written and verbal)
